Monday, August 25

1. Lecture:  Introduction to the Neolithic Age.  You will be given a lecture sheet, which you can see here.
2. Read "At Home" by Bill Bryson.

Tuesday, August 26

1. Complete At Home, Reading and Writing Skills with a partner.
2. Take an ACT-style quiz over At Home

Wednesday, August 27
 Begin watching Mankind: The Story of all of Us (Episode 1)  There is a viewing guide for this video.


If you are absent, you will need to go online to watch the video.

Thursday, August 28

1. Finish Video and discuss.
2. Complete a thesis writing activity with supporting details. 

Friday, August 29
1. Lecture:  Mesopotamia
2. Discuss "Specific Definitions"

Homework:  Read pages 14-34 in your textbook (end of chapter 1 and the beginning of chapter 2). 
Then complete the Reading Guide-Mesopotamia or complete the online quiz by Wednesday 8:00 am.

Welcome to Mr. Janu's World History Class.  Today, we will be discussing the course. Below, you will find the Course Requirement Sheet for 2014-15 and the Student Information Link.  We will be going over this in class. Plus getting our seats!

1.  Seating Chart.  Click on the chart for your class and navigate to your seat!

2.  Mr. Janu's Course Syllabus, 2014-15
3.  Student Information Sheet (You will need to complete this online, using your iPad)
4.  Set up the cBox Chat Room.

Homework:  You will need to read the article, "Prehistoric Art" and complete the reading guide. The reading guide will be due on Monday.  Or, if you want to take the quiz instead, you can. The quiz can be found in Schoology. It will be available until 8 am, Monday August 24.

Thursday, August 19

Today, we are going to look at the importance of studying history and art.  We will be looking at how Ferris Bueller and The Simpsons relates to World History!

Friday, August 20

Lecture:  The Beginnings of Art

The Reading Guide is due on Monday.  Or, you can do the quiz.  If you decide to do the reading, you can do it on paper, or you can send it to me via email.

If you send it through email, you must put your period in the subject line along with your last name and the name of the assignment. Example:  

"WH Smith-6 Paleolithic Chart"
